The diocese of Pala took its origin in 1950, having been bifurcated from the diocese of Changanacherry. It is situated in the middle part of kerala, having an area of 1166 Sq.M. The People of this Diocese, numbering 346458 belong to the ancient St. Thomas Christian Community. The world famous two pilgrim centres, Bharananganam and Ramapuram are in this diocese.
